Dr. Harvey received his undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities, having played football for the Golden Gophers. He was a teammate of Tony Dungy (Go Colts!) and was named First Team All Big Ten Academic his senior year. He then graduated from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry in 1981, receiving his certificate in Periodontics and Masters Degree in 1983. Dr. Harvey remained at Iowa's dental school as a full-time faculty until moving to Tucson in October 1986. Dr. Harvey has held numerous leadership positions in the Arizona Dental Association (AzDA), including serving as President in 2001-02. Twice (1993, 2003) he has been awarded the Arizona Award by AzDA, their "Dentist of the Year."
